Badges
Badges are the small labels on a product's picture that say it is on sale or sold out.
Open it from Theme settings (the gear icon at the top left of the editor) → Badges.

| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Show sale badge | Shows a badge on products with a compare-at price higher than their price. |
| Sale badge style | What the badge says: the saving as a percentage (Save 20%), as an amount in the customer's currency (Save $20.00), as a short -20%, or your own word (Custom text). |
| Custom sale text | The badge's word, for example Sale. Shown when Sale badge style is Custom text. |
| Sale badge background | The badge color. The sale price uses it too, so the reduced price matches its badge. |
| Sale badge text | The color of the text on the badge. |
| Show sold out badge | Shows a Sold out badge on products with no stock left. |
Important
Because the sale price takes the badge color, choose a background that is easy to read as text on all your color schemes, not only as a badge. A deep red or brown works on light schemes and stays readable on a dark one.
Note
Compare-at prices are set on each product in the Shopify admin, in the Pricing card. The badge appears as soon as a product has one higher than its price.
