Bundle discounts
The Product bundle section shows discount tiers, such as Buy 3+, save 10%, and the saving as the bundle fills up. The section only shows the offer. The discount itself is an automatic discount that you create in the Shopify admin, and Shopify applies it at checkout.
Important
Create the discounts first, then turn on Show discounts in the section. Until then the section shows no saving at all, so customers are never promised a discount they won't receive.
Create a discount for each tier
Repeat these steps once for every Discount tier block in the section.
- In the Shopify admin, go to Discounts and click Create discount.
- Choose Amount off products.
- Under Method, choose Automatic discount and give it a title customers will see at checkout, such as Bundle: 10% off 3 or more.
- Under Discount value, choose Percentage and enter the tier's Discount, for example
10. - Under Applies to, choose Specific collections or Specific products and pick the same products the bundle offers. If the section uses Or a collection, choose that collection.
- Under Minimum purchase requirements, choose Minimum quantity of items and enter the tier's Items required, for example
3. - Set Combinations and Active dates as you need, then click Save.
A worked example
A bundle with two tiers needs two discounts:

With five items in the cart, both discounts qualify. Shopify gives the customer the better one, 15%, so the tiers never add up to more than you intended.
Things to know
- An automatic discount applies whenever the cart has enough of those products, whether the customer added them through the bundle or one by one.
- Keep each tier's Discount and Items required the same as its discount in the admin. If you change one, change the other.
- Add a short note for customers with the section's Footnote, for example Discount is applied automatically at checkout.
- A store can run up to 25 automatic discounts at once.
